About Sonya Walker

Welcome to my page and this is my artwork... Sonya Walker was born and raised in Savannah, Ga. At a very young age, she demonstrated a keen interested in drawing. As a very quiet and shy child, she used drawing as a way of occupying her time. In high school, one of her instructors encouraged her to pursue her art education in a newly established school in town called the Savannah College of Art & Design (S.C.A.D.), which he wrote a letter of recommendation for her to attend. Sonya went on to major in Illustration. After a year of study, Sonya decided to withdraw and pursue her art interests. In 1989, Sonya became an Associate Artist with J.P. Art Enterprise on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina under the direction of Joe Pinckney, a...
